We use an assortment of brushes in everyday life. Children recognise brushes from very early on – whether from seeing siblings / adults brushing their teeth, using a brush to tidy up mess or to brush their hair. Brushes have so many uses and can be so different in many ways – shape, size, feel (hard or soft) and even what they are made from. They are a wonderful talking point and they bring so many questions with them. This curious collection of brushes is a perfect early years resource for Heuristic Play.

Treasure baskets are based on firm educational research into early years play.
As the items in a treasure basket have not been designed as toys, children should always be supervised during play.
